Summary
I think the story so far paints enough of a picture of how Funding Circle has treated us. Sadly I'm sure it's exactly how they'd treat you too if you were ever in our situation.
Their actions raise questions about their competency and incentives. Funding Circle is FCA-authorised, but that does not mean business lending and recoveries operate with the protections most people assume.
Delay the review. Push for a charge on our home. Ask for property value and mortgage details. Ignore what we send. Then reject without what feels like a proper evaluation.
Would we ever use Funding Circle again? No.
Would we recommend Funding Circle to any other business owner? No.
Have Funding Circle treated us fairly and with respect when the chips were down? No.
Are Funding Circle a company that preys on business owners needing fast cash but in the event of a problem they move straight to aggressive debt collection? Yes.
Are we genuinely expecting Funding Circle to try and take our house from us? Yes.
The stress Funding Circle have put us through has been unbearable.
